The wiper wheel is used to clean the blade in wet conditions and does not serve as a gauge wheel. Spring pressure, and the ring around the blade spindle, regulate the depth of the fertilizer opener.
The 3004 and 3005 Fertilizer Openers have an angle blade design with the 18 in blade running at a 5.5 degree angle. This frontal view, is the view as the residue sees it.
This is the 3005 fertilizer opener with the manure application boot. We recommend that you run the "zipper" when apllying manure. Typically used at rates around 3 to 4 thousand gal per acre. The boot is a 2.25 in. diameter stainless steel tube.
