Pluribus
patents pending
DAWN now offers a flexible, cost effective
strip-till solution geared toward the farming operation that
is focused on efficiency and productivity. They use the same
row cleaners used on planters, so you will see great return
on investment from the Pluribus Strip-Till unit. The name Pluribus
refers to multiplicity, a tool that has not one use but many,
and also a sense that together we can farm better. To View a promotional video click here. This is a large file (11mb) and may not be suitable for dial up connections.

P/N 200620 Dawn "Swirl" Soil Turbulator (Patents Pending). This is not a conventional rolling basket. Rather, it builds on the fluid dynmaic properties of the Pluribus Strip Till Unit, creating a finely tilled strip in even the heaviest, muckiest soils. Also, this device eliminates any trace of a void left on either side of the strip. It retrofits all units regardless of date of production. By varying the placement of this device relative to the centerline of the row it is possible to adjust how finely tilled the strip is. Below: At left is unit with Swirl and right is without. Notice the increased churning action.

The DAWN Pluribus Strip-Till
units are designed to be used in either the fall or spring.
They work a strip five and six inches deep. They produce a cleared,
fertilized, and friable seed bed- vitually no clumps. Pluribus
units will function directly in corn stalks. In high yielding
fields it is often better to run the unit between the rows,
as the stalks sometimes have difficulty separating from the
root ball in certain varieties.

| A customer near Jackson, Minnesota inspects a strip made in a corn field this spring. The field had yielded over 200 bu/acre the previous year. 12 degree temperature differences were recorded between strip and the area between the strip. |

| Fertilizer delivery
is quite simple. For dry types there is a large tube which drops
the fertilizer onto the leading edge of the blade. It is then
incorporated by the rotation of the coulter. Liquid fertilizer
is delivered in two ways. First, by an injection nozzle mounted on the centerline of the unit tucked between the TrashWheels. And secondly, via an injection nozzle directed into the cavity momentarily opened by the second rh coulter. |

Above: The time required
for a tilled strip to dry and warm is not as great as is often
thought. Only an hour separation is often fine between Strip-Till
and planting operations.
Left: Same field as above being planted several
hours after strips being made. |
