Description

The ZRX crimper is a groundbreaking attachment designed for straightforward installation on your planter frame. Each planter has its specific mounting challenges. Some planters can only accommodate either ZRX or ZRX+, while others can support both options. With its single linkage modules and independent oscillating rollers, the ZRX ensures reliable ground contact for optimal crimp performance while planting. Available in different roller widths to accommodate various row spacings, this crimper is compatible with most existing row cleaners. Furthermore, the hydraulic control allows you to easily lift the rollers out of the way when not in use, boosting flexibility and efficiency in your planting process.

Features
Achieve Consistent Ground Contact with Articulating Rollers

All ZRX roller crimper designs share a key feature: they are made up of modular roller sections tailored for various row spacings. Each roller is equipped with spherical bearings on both ends, which connect the single linkage module positioned along the centerline of the row unit. These spherical bearings enable independent vertical movement of the modules, ensuring consistent pressure is applied to the cover crop. As a result, the ZRX achieves the most uniform crimping and termination available in roller crimping on the market.

Reduce Maintenance Costs with Single Linkage Design

A single linkage system provides numerous benefits that improve both efficiency and reliability. By reducing the number of moving parts, it lowers wear points, resulting in decreased maintenance costs over time. Moreover, its main pivots are greaseless, which greatly reduces the time and effort needed for regular maintenance, for a more efficient operation.

Increase Versatility with Hydraulic Control

The ZRX is hydraulically controlled, offering both manual and in-cab control options. It can be set to a specific pressure and easily adjusted for various covers and conditions. Operating the SCV continuously allows the ZRX to quickly adapt to changing conditions, ensuring a reliable crimping effect. This system is highly efficient and requires minimal hydraulic flow. By flipping the SCV direction, the rollers can be raised allowing the planter to operate in areas without cover.

Increase Crimping Effectiveness with Chevron Pattern

The chevron pattern provides two key benefits: it minimizes roller bounce that may lead to crimping issues and it efficiently directs material toward the center of the roller. This design decreases the likelihood of material wrapping around the rollers, creating a thicker mat in the center of the row. As a result, it improves the performance of row cleaners, enhancing their overall efficiency.

Advantages
Decrease Initial Investment Cost with Using Existing Row Cleaners

Most row cleaners can be used with the ZRX crimper, and if you already have row cleaners installed on your planter, there's no need to invest additional ones for the crimping system. This system can also operate effectively without row cleaners. The ZRX is more economical, as it avoids the added costs and complexities associated with having row cleaners integrated into the design.

Crimper Developed for Integrated Single Pass Crimping and Planting

This crimping solution is designed to be mounted directly onto the planter frame, allowing for crimping and planting in one pass. Minimizing the number of field passes is crucial for farmers, as it reduces both costs and time while minimizing ground compaction. Given that each planter has its own installation challenges, contact us to see if roller crimpers can be integrated with your particular planter.

Customizable for your Planter Width and Row Spacing

Regardless of the row spacing, we have the ideal solution for you. In cases of tighter row spacings, spanning multiple rows can be a more cost-effective approach, helping to decrease the number of modules and the overall system costs.

Farmer Driven Design

The ZRX was first developed and patented by a farmer named Charles Martin from southeastern Pennsylvania. While drum-style roller crimpers had been around for some time, Charles identified an opportunity to enhance them by designing individually floating row units that could adapt to the contours of the field. Additionally, original ZRX featured a row cleaner and hydraulic pressure control.
